At the Chara Project, we create Bible Studies for anyone interested in exploring what the Bible really says - whether on your own or with a neighbor. Our desire is to help people learn how to study God’s Word and discover its intended meaning - understanding its message the way the original audience would have heard it. And that’s exactly what you can expect in this Bible Study on the book of Jonah.

Throughout the Old Testament, God used hand-selected prophets to communicate messages to His people. Studying these prophets helps us understand the heart of God, His desire and love for His people, and the way God can use ordinary people to deliver extraordinary messages of hope, conviction, and encouragement. There were hundreds of prophets throughout Jewish history, 16 of whom would have their own named books in the Old Testament - including a man named Jonah. 

Jonah is not a typical prophecy book, given that it tells a story of a prophet running from God, more than proclaiming messages from God. Yet its message is just as powerful as any of the other prophet’s books.
